I’ve always found it fascinating how changes in our environment can impact our emotions.

We tend to feel happier in the summer months compared to the colder seasons. We have a clearer mind when our surroundings are tidier compared to when it’s a bomb site!

If you’ve been scrolling through your Instagram feed lately, you might have noticed that it’s bursting with vibrant colours and bold styles.

Well, that’s likely because your favourite influencers are catching on to the #dopeminedressing trend, which has sparked nearly 73k posts on the platform.

If you didn’t know what Dopamine is, it’s a brain chemical that influences your mood and feelings of reward and motivation, like that happy feeling you get when you eat your favourite comfort meal or go shopping.

Well, Dopamine is now being linked to what you wear too!

According to Karen Pine, Psychologist, Speaker and Author of Mind What You Wear, “What we wear affects how we feel so much that it can distort and determine our thoughts and judgments.”

More specifically, the textures, style and colours of what we wear can either be the mood and confidence booster many of us have been needing in the past few years or make us want to hide among the crowd.

In Instagram’s recent trend report published in December 2021, the social media company predicted that maximalist fashion would grow this year, with more people “using fashion as a vehicle for joy, optimism and self-expression.”

So if you’re looking to brighten up your wardrobe and go full happy mode in 2022, have a browse below for bold, vibrant and beautiful pieces that you can buy right now!
